Matprima was created just over 20 years ago, in 2004 to offer customers in the region a local sourcing partner that understands China and India and that is willing to extend credit terms, ensuring quality, competitiveness, and service.
Today, Matprima is a trading company that commercializes over 500 different chemicals, ingredients, additives and active pharmaceutical ingredients for direct importation to any country in the region (LATAM) by connecting end users to the actual source – the factory. We ship directly from the factory in China or India directly to any port (maritime or air) in the region.
Matprima’s focus is in the Pharmaceutical, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Medicine, Human Nutrition and Agrochemical industries.
We currently offer raw materials from over 100 factories that are quality compliant and trusted sources for many end users. We work with renowned factories in China and India, where we also have strategic alliances with local companies who look after our interests.
Through these direct relationships and our partners, we are able to offer nearly any raw material in the industries where we are present. This also allows us to obtain first-hand market information, trends, the best spot prices, and above all, an integrated logistics service that ensures excellent customer support.
We rely on Interchem SAS as a key representative of our portfolio in Colombia, and we also have direct sales in Central America – Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Panama – and South America – Peru and Argentina.
Our lean and empowered structure allows us to be highly competitive, and with low profit margins, we aim for volume in this highly commoditized business.
